Ever After Hour Double Dare Day 1: 8,264 words

Total Bookage= 8,264 words

Ron Collins Double-Dared me, so it’s official. I am gonna Double Dare myself to write book 3, called The Ever After Hour, by the end of October.

8,264 words
…with two minutes to spare…

Into Chapter 4 already, first few chapters have been shorter in this book. Lots of stuff happening at once, so moving between POVs faster this go around. Things are getting tense already and Jack’s just learned that Talia’s an angel, but that’s only half the story.

And very soon, he’s going to be up to his eyeballs in assassin demons and an ex girlfriend that still wants him dead. Including her multilevel marketing manager, Lucifer.

Jack’s already got a world of troubles and things are heating up as he fights to keep Talia safe.

And that’s it for me. Bella’s been a cuddly ball of need all day, making typing really hard with a 12-pound Persian in my lap. Because I wasn’t late enough starting this book. 17 days left…what the hell was I thinking? I blame Ron Collins.

G’nighters…

Man, these numbers look small after finishing book 2! Gotta get a new story rhythm going here and find my stride. Just started Chapter 2, gotta open the moving boxes and setup the furniture, put everything in its spot. Before unleashing assassin demons and angels of death. Sure sounds like a romance, doesn’t it? But hey, I haven’t even killed anybody yet.

I’ll soon be dropping poor Jack into the craziest situation of his life—much crazier than the two seasons of the reality TV game show he’s just finished. Into a third season that he’ll never forget. And the stakes have never been higher.

Can’t wait!!

Wanted to post some first numbers so you wouldn’t think I wimped out. Today was a late start because I have a standing meeting on Wednesday mornings, so didn’t get to start writing until 2 PM. So, a little behind on this first day.

Melted into the first chapter that kind of just unfolded. Gotta do all that beginning setup and anchoring and setting, getting characters settled in their new spots. Because the world changed drastically after book 2’s ending. Got a lot of pieces to pickup before getting into the things that made me want to keep going.

Anyway, first numbers are on the board…the Double Dare has begun. And I’m loving that I get to write about these characters for another adventure. 😊

I’ve got 4 pages of notes that I wrote last night…and a chapter 1 that’s just begging me to write it.

Yesterday:

So…when I said hold my beer…

Ever since I typed the last line on book 2, my brain keeps going back to the story. Tried unpacking a tub or two. Back to the story. Cleaned the cat box, got the mail, picked up a couple of packages…back to the story. Ate dinner, treated myself to Teriyaki Chicken…back to the story.

Yeah, you know where this is going.

Finally, I just sat down and started that dreaded letter to myself, the one I write before I start writing something new. See, there are still 18 days left of this dare and time management is a good thing, so… So, why the hell am I sitting here trying to do other things when my head keeps going back to the story?

Going back to the story with book 3, The Ever After Hour. Chapter 1. Tomorrow. Writing out more notes and other stuff tonight.
