For this Novel Dare, I decided to continue work on my military science fiction series. I’ve written books 1 (Recombinant) and 2 (Helix). Book 3 is called Splice. So many things need to happen, events that began in the earlier books. I made notes on all of those things, so I’m doing a lot referring back to those as I thought about where this book starts.
Sometimes, I really struggle with how and where a brand new novel should start. But this time, it was clear from my book 2 ending where this one needed to start. So, I started with David’s POV and finding the body of his dead captain. Except he’s still breathing. He remembers David and what happened to the recon 3 team on Ballese. And he remembers that he recognizes Private Mitchell. Ruh roh…lots of problems to deal with. Here we go again…Can’t wait to deal with all of them. 🙂
