Broke 35K, so this baby’s officially a novel. And it’s less than 4K from the big 40. SCORE!!!!!

It’s not done yet, but I just wrote the equivalent of a novel in 5 freakin’ days…holy cows in space! What the hell’s the matter with me????

And I had to leave Talia and Jack in the middle of a kiss…will make it easy to pick up tomorrow though as I close out Chapter 12 and start Chapter 13 with the first knightly competition challenge.

Forgot to eat dinner, guess I’ll go find something to eat now.

A bit of a rough start this morning. Didn’t go to sleep until about 3:30 AM (took a while for the story high to fade). About 9, bleary-eyed, I was making my pre-writing PBJ to take to my desk. Sat down. Took a bite.

Something didn’t taste right. Took another bite. Grape jelly, check. Creamy peanut butter, check. English toast bread, check..hmmm. It just tastes…off.

Turned the sandwich over and back. Looked right. Just bought the bread Saturday. But it did look a little wider than normal.

Smelled right…wait! Awww, dammit! I’d picked up a loaf of sourdough bread by mistake. Love sourdough. Just not on a PBJ. Grumble, grumble. No worries, I’ll just grab the other English Toast loaf I tossed into the freezer.

Dammit!!! Another sourdough.

Another trip to the store this morning.

But the important number for today is this one:

Total Bookage = 30,300K WOOO!!!!

Just slammed past 30K at a full tilt run. I repeated that line because I can’t believe I’m less than 10K from calling this manuscript a novel.

And story stakes are rising. Competition’s getting serious. And things aren’t going the way the main characters wanted. Curve balls are flying. And hell, this isn’t even a baseball novel.

Hope I can keep all the balls in the air until they’re all supposed to come crashing down. Pretty mean considering this is a romance novel, but hey, one of my main characters is an angel of death. A little smiting can be romantic.

Onward!
